November field work trip to Wales
In late November 2019 we headed south to bury green and red tea bags at two peatlands in Wales, Migneint and Cors Caron. In Migneint teabags were buried in areas that had been damaged by drainage ditches, and areas that had been restored by the drainage ditches being filled in. The site at Cors Caron was currently damaged due to drainage but there are plans to restore the site over the next few years.
We will be returning in February to recollect the teabags and use analytical techniques to assess the effects of bio-degradation at the three sampling sites.
Below are some photos showing us at work!
